Fixing Leftovers
Jan. 25th, 2009 10:40 pmI have the secret of making any not-very-good-the-first-time-around sauce palatable. It's pretty simple. Mix it with spaghetti and red-pepper-infused olive oil, cover with shredded cheese, and voila! tasty leftovers. So far I have had only success. A bit ago, I made rather bland and unappetizing "curried" lentils and cabbage, served with rice. I had tried adding barbecue sauce and sauteed kielbasa to some of the leftovers, but that didn't improve it much. Then I applied my new method, and lunch today was great!
This is good, since there's another large jar of lentil-and-cabbage sauce in the freezer. It's rather amazing how much food half a cabbage and one small bag of lentils will produce.
I even have hopes of getting Phil to try it, though he says he's scared to.
