Burn in Hell, baby, Burn in Hell.
Nov. 10th, 2002 07:55 pmThe Muse and I got back from Wisconsin and watching the baby get wet (infant baptism!). I had to hold my tongue so much. It was really weird attending the service. There were many points raised by the pastor/priest that made me want to just go up to him after the service, shake his hand, and begin debating theology.
And of course no one in the Muse's family would understand why I was flabbergasted....
I really don't have any high ground to stand on. I haven't attended church regularly...well, ever, really. I suppose that makes me a sinner. Of course, I would say that anyone who holds a belief but does not act upon it sins against themself.
There are many sinners in this world.
Not just a philosophical belief, either...but a belief that they should do this thing or that thing...people who squander their potential for no reason other than fear or the desire to do just what everyone else is doing....
They are the sinners. And their hell is on earth.
In other news, bubonic plague hits New York.
