Guess I'm a little confused if it's in your narrative or if the pronoun use will be entirely within quotes. If it's a society that's moved beyond and it's all within quotes I say make your own non derivative pronoun set like 'mak' or something. but it in italics and explain it in context early. if it's in the actual narrative and not in quotes i'd probably fall in with susanofstohelit.
